Fleetshield's history • Early 1980s Business founded by John Waterman (trading as Baystart Ltd) • 1989 Company rebranded as Fleetshield • 2000 Began using computer-controlled cutting machines for ply lining • 2007 Moved to current premises at Earls Colne, Colchester, gaining an extensive vehicle storage area and larger workshop and office areas • 2009 John Waterman retired - but remained available as a consultant to the company • 2010 Extended premises by a further 6000 sq ft to increase production space • Today The company remains a privately owned, family-run business |
